OYAN’s Graphic Rave 2012 Objective: • To publish an annual list of 15 recommended graphic novels and comic book collections for teens to be made available each Fall in the early portion of the school year. Publishing Requirements: • books must be published between May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012 to qualify. Criteria: • A Wide Variety of Genres (Manga, Non-Fiction, Independent and Mainstream publisher representation, Publishers based out of the Pacific Northwest, etc.) • A variety of books for younger and older teens must be included. • A balance between male and female protagonists is desirable. • Only one book per author, per genre will be included. • Only one title in a series will be considered per year (it does not need to be the first volume). • The list should reflect multicultural diversity. Important Dates to Remember: June 1, 2012: Nominating Period Closes! June 15, 2012 – July 15, 2012: Preliminary Voting August 1, 2012 – September 1, 2012: Secondary Voting September 15, 2012: Final List Revealed!!
