How is wind converted into useable energy? • Wind is converted into useable energy by: The uneven heating of the earths atmosphere. • It not only causes wind but also can cause very big problems with the rotation of earth itself. • Te earths atmosphere is transparent which means it rotates on an axis. Without wind the earth would be so hot no human would be able to survive. It would eventually get hotter than the sun itself.
The benefits of Wind • Wind takes up less space then the average power station. • Windmills only have to occupy a few meters, allowing the land around to be more useful for other important things. • Newer technologies are making wind much more efficient. • Wind turbines are a great use to Locate and generate energy. • Wind turbines are ranged at many different sizes and different models. • Combined solar energy is another huge benefit of wind. • Solar Electricity Is used for developing and providing a safe but sturdy Energy source. • On a hot sunny day the wind can cool off a person, dog, horse, cat, Etc. • Wind can also be used to Dry things such as clothes, blankets, etc. • Wind can be used to blow things away easily such as leaves, Tumble Weeds etc.
What are the Drawbacks of Wind? • One of Winds most dangerous and serious drawbacks is the fact that when the wind blows It spreads Pollution through the air. This causes air borne allergies, pollen etc, and can be very dangerous to animals and humans. • Wind power produces less electricity than a average power station does in 30 years. • Wind construction can be expensive, costly and can be dangerous to our wild life. • The noise condition of wind turbines can seriously sound similar to a jet’s motor this not only is loud but both cause pollution giving threats to our society. • Protest and petitions usually confront Farm life, people feel that country side should be left alone for its beauty .
Why is it not our number one source of energy currently?... • The reason for this in particularly is because Fossil fuels are non renewable resources which means that they cannot be replaced. They are limited in supplies and one day will be gone for good. There is no escaping this conclusion. Fossil fuels formed thousands of years ago when there was nothing here. Now they are buried far beneath the earths surface and have turned into what we use for fuel. Renewable energy sources use only 7% of earths natural energy. Meaning non renewable Resources use up to 93% of the earth’s Natural Energy. This is why its not our number one source of energy currently.
How is the energy converted into a usable form of energy? • Algae can be processed with many existing technologies to create electricity. The algae wheel system has a higher values than most feed stocks. • Consumptions such as furnaces and boilers, convert fuels into several forms of useful energy, including hot air, hot water, steam and electricity.
What is it used for? • Algae has come a long ways in our Fossil Fuels situation. Algae; the green gunk that stands on the Top of water may soon become useful again. You may be wondering what I mean by this, What I mean is algae will soon be used for making renewable Plastic wear. Such as Plastic spoons, forks and knifes. • Algae is used in 8 different ways here are them and their descriptions: • Carbohydrates- a object found in plants, used for human food. • Photosynthesis- Light energy is captured from the sun by molecules in plants. • Zooplankton- Tiny animals that swim through the upper surface of groups of water. • Euglenoids - Usually occur in fresh clean water. • Golden -brown algae- Is a golden brown Algae that comes from Fresh water and Salt water. • Fire Algae- Most Fire Algae live in Salt Water, You can spot these creatures because of their Flashing lighted backs. • Green Algae- Most Green Algae live in the sea, But can live about anywhere bacteria grows. These little creatures are what helps form The Slimy Green Scum found in Ponds. • Yellow Green Algae- This occurs in Fresh Clean Water, and store energy as Carbohydrates, and add their yellow color to the green Algae working together.
What are its benefits • Algae has Remarkable Vitamins and Minerals. • Some contain over 65% Protein and 15% Carbohydrates leaving 7% of fat. • Most include iron, sodium, Magnesium etc. If you wanted to find out more information on these you could find them on the periodic Table. • Some algae is popular with Vegetarian because of all of the Nutrience.
What are its drawbacks • The main drawback with Algae is Reproduction. Reproduction causes serious bacteria in the Different Organisms. • Another drawback is algae can get into a humans pool and develop bad gawky slime on the bottom of the pool and when a small child is swimming he/ she can slip.
