  1. The white rose movement

  2. who started it • Hans Scholl • Sophie Scholl, • ChristophProbst. • Alexander Schmorell • They were students from the university of Munich and were middle class Germans.

  3. How did it start • The White Rose was influenced by the German Youth Movement, of which ChristophProbst was a member. • It was a silent revolution which fought the Nazis with word. • they tried to convince people that Hitler was and evil man and racism is evil.

  4. Their story. • After Hitler's rise to power , the Germans grew to become an international super power, and German pride was great . Though many German were blinded by Hitler's ability to talk and his economic successes and some feared him so they kept silent. • The white rose started as just hang outs with just friends getting together and talking about politics and things like the third Reich.

  5. Their story • They were then asked to speak out agents Hitler by the catholic church so the wrote a leaflet agents Hitler. • “who among us has any consumption of the dimensions of shame that well befall us and our children when one day the vial has fallen from are eyes and the most horrible of crimes-crimes that infinitely out distance every human measure-reach the light of day?” First white rose leaflet. “

  6. More of their story • The leaflets where spread all over Munich and requested to be copied and passed on , and it asked for active resistant's agents Hitler. They thought if they can reach the academia of Munich , a revolution would happen • On February 1943 , the white rose convinced their favorite professor Kurt Huvor who was an Anit Nazi and attended some of their meetings and agreed to their plans for a revolution , and one of the most favored leaflets was the one which discussed the loss at Stalingrad which called for freedom from the Nazis.

  7. And more • The white rose was the only movement which talked about the treatment of Jews in their work. They knew talking about it in a bad way was the same as committing suicide because they well die for “treason”.

  8. And sadly……………they die • On February 18th , they were caught spreading word on campus by a genitor and were turned in immediately and were executed. • First to die were Hans, Sophie Scholl ,and Christopher Probst. • Ultimately 80 people were executed do to connections to the white rose.

  9. Their legacy • After they died their leaflets lived on and were spread , though they didn't succeed as the white rose due to their lack of popularity by the public. • Their work spoke to the German people’s hearts and were carried on by high school student , and they were also dropped by Allied planes over German territories. • A survey was done in Germany in 2003 and it said the Scholl's were voted as the most important Germans in history.
