  2. Health Services Mission • Deborah's Place Health Services program strives to assist women in improving and maintaining their health through improved access to health care and health education.

  3. Program Overview • Health Care Access • Health Services works with each individual to provide health care referrals. We can refer women to our on site clinic or local health care providers. Each woman has the right to health care, and we work to ensure every woman has a primary care provider. • Health Education • We provide health education, so that all women have the knowledge they need to advocate for their own best health. Having information assists each woman in making the best use of her health care team and making informed decisions about her health care. • Empowerment • Health Services strives to empower all women to take charge of their health care needs through education and increasing access to resources to address health care needs

Health Access • Increasing Access • Health Services has been working to increase the number of covered by health insurance • Affordable Care Act: County Care, Medicaid Expansion, Selection of Coordinated Care Entities. • Increasing Dental Care Access • Creation of the DP Dental Grant Assistance

Health Education • Health Series include • Speak to Your Health • A Beautiful Mind • Address Your Stress • Peace in the Puzzle • Health Pow-wows • How to talk to your doctor. • How to be a wise health consumer • Affordable Care Act and You • Physical Activity • Nia Fitness • Nintendo Wii • Dance and sports • Health Fairs • Conducted onsite by medical students at UIC • Attending group field trips to community Events.

  6. Empowerment • We strive to empower the women to take charge of their health by providing increased access to health care options, knowledge to become wise health care consumers, and equipping them with skills to be their own advocate of their health.
