Emergency Response to Mass Food Poisoning Incident in Miami Beach

A Miami Beach Firefighter/Paramedic recounts a dramatic night responding to a suspected food poisoning at a hotel. Initially dispatched to the wrong address, crews faced an overwhelming scene with approximately 60 guests needing triage after primary transport of the first two individuals. The hotel, a beautifully renovated Art Deco building, proved challenging. Ultimately, 14 more guests were hospitalized, including 4 children. This incident underscored the importance of trusting gut instincts and strengthened inter-agency relationships for future emergencies.
