Immune System

The immune system is a complex network of structures that includes white blood cells, the thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, and lymph vessels. White blood cells (leukocytes, thrombocytes, granulocytes, and lymphocytes) play a crucial role in defending the body against invaders. The thymus helps mature T-cells, while the spleen contributes to blood filtration and storage. Lymph nodes filter germs, and lymph vessels transport fatty acids and fluids. This system interacts with the circulatory system to protect against infections and may be affected by conditions like allergies, asthma, and cancer.
