  3. Background Demographic • Random Selection • Male and Female Participants • Age Range: 18 - 50+

  4. Usability Testing • Carried Out Pre-Test Questions • List Of Tasks For Participants • Post Test Questions • Likert and Differential Scale For Pre and Post Test Questions • Testing Conditions: In-Home

  5. Pre-Test Questions • Age • Gender • How often do you use Skype, or other video chat systems? • What Is Your Primary Form Of Communication

  6. Participant Tasks • Add A New Contact • Place a Video Call • Disable Then Re-Enable the Video • Mute And UnMute The Microphone • End The Video Call • Decline an incoming video call

  7. Post-Test Questions • How Difficult Was It To Add A Contact • How Difficult Was It To Place A Call • How Difficult Was It To Disable and Enable Video • How Difficult Was It To Mute and Unmute The Microphone

  8. Additional Post-Test Questions • How Difficult Was It To End A Call • How Would You Rate Skype’s Usability: Scale 1 through 5 • Would You Use Skype Again

Usability Testing Results • Participants Found Interface Difficult To Navigate • Participants Had TO Search How To Functions That Were Not Intuitive • Participants Did Not Like The Visual Appearance Of Skype • Participants Are Not More Inclined To Use Skype • Recommendation For Skype Interface Overhaul

  10. Ways To Improve Interface • Better Descriptive Icons and Labels • Reduce the amount of popup notification messages within program for a better user experience • Cleaner and Aesthetically pleasing design
