  1. All About T.U.S.U. An introduction to Telford Underwater Search Unit S.A.A. 485

  2. Who are we? We are a S.C.U.B.A. club right in the heart of England, with more than a 20 year history of serving local divers. The club is friendly, with divers of varying qualifications and age, you are bound to find a ‘buddy’ to suit you. More than anything else, the club is YOUR CLUB.

  3. What is the ‘S.A.A.’? • The S.A.A. is our governing body and the organisation which provides divers insurance. • They enable us to train divers to a safe and competent standard, and provide qualifications which are recognised throughout the world!!

  4. Never dived before? • We are able to train those of you who have never dived or snorkelled before to carry out diving activities safely. • Try Dives are available for a reasonable price on most Friday nights.

  5. Already a trained diver? • We do not pretend to know everything there is to know about diving, and you may be able to teach us a thing or two, if so, we want to meet you! • All we ask is to see proof of your qualifications and your dive log. • We recognise qualifications from: SAA, PADI, BS-AC, CMAS, IANTD and many others!

  6. What does it cost? What will I need? • The club does need to make annual and monthly charges to cover SAA membership and facilities • The costs vary according to your age and membership package. • A detailed list of the prices for the year are available on the club web-site. • SCUBA diving is not the cheapest sport in the world, but you do not need to buy it all at the start • Get hold of the basics, mask, fins & snorkel once you decide to join and gradually build up from there!!

  7. Is there an age limit? • There are no upper age limits to SCUBA dive in the UK, so long as you are fit!! • Anyone of any age can join as an associate (non diving) member. • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to use SCUBA gear

  8. Where do we dive? • Many great dive sites within a fairly short distance! • World famous Stoney Cove less than an hours drive! • Welsh quarries within an hour and a half • Trips to the coast when weather permits!

  9. Where do we train? • The club meets at 2100 every Friday night at Madeley Court Pool for an hour training • Following the session there is chance for a drink in the bar and an opportunity to discuss the weeks diving!
