  2. What will I know when I finnish this tutorial? I will know what is in our Library. I will understand Library Rules & Procedures.

  3. Let’s review our Library Guidelines. • There are question and answer slides to practice with to make sure you know everything you need to know to be a member of the Order of the Dragon! • Work at your own pace. Have fun!

  4. Library Guidelines • You must have your library card to check out books. • You may check out two books and one magazine each time you come to the library. (If you returned your other items). • You may not check out books if you have a long overdue item. • Please work quietly so you don’t disturb other students. • Always enter at Library Lab door and exit by the door nearest the Circulation Desk.

  5. Checking out… • Books – Circulate for two weeks. • Reference – No checkout except to classroom. • Magazines may be checked-out. They are on shelves next to the exit door alphabetically by the name of the magazine.

  6. How to check out your own booksIt’s as easy as 1,2,3! • I scan my card. (It’s only polite to say hello!) • I scan my books. Listen for the “happy sound” (If you get the “unhappy sound” call for help!). • I see them on the screen! I see my name and my books! That’s it, I’m out the door - as easy as 1,2,3.

  7. How to check-in your books It’s as easy as 1,2, 3! • When I enter the Library with my books… I stop at theCheck-in computer. I stand behind the line on the carpet. When it is my turn…. • I scan my books. Using the barcode next to the spine. • I see my name. and I’m sure that my name is on the screen one time for every book I check in. • I put them on the shelf.Ebooks on the pink shelves, F on the purple and Non Fiction (true) on the Blue.

  8. Please return your materials on time for others to use. There are no fines for late books. • You can only check out books if you return your books on time. • A one dollar ($1) replacement fee will be charged for a lost library card. • You must also pay for any lost or damaged books.

  9. Library Hours • The Library is open before school from 7:50 a.m. until the end of school at 3:00 p.m. • Fun Company sometimes uses the Library after school for those who need to work on homework.

  10. When do I get to come to the Library • Open check out times are • 7:50 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. each day • 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day

  11. When May I visit the library by myself? (Click on the best answer) • Anytime the Library is open from 7:50 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • I must be with my teacher if I want to use the Library. • During open check out times only.

  12. Try Again • The Library is open before school from 7:50 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. • BUT I may come alone only during • OPEN CHECK OUT times.

  14. What must I always bring to the Library to check out a book? • A smile, a quiet voice, and a helpful attitude! • My Library card • All of the above.

  15. Try again! • Yes, always come with a smile, a quiet voice and a helpful attitude…..but you need something more!

  16. Try Again! • Of course you need your library card! • But always bring something that is in your pocket that you put across your face….and a quiet voice, and a helpful attitude!

  19. If I return two books how many times will I see my name on the screen at check-in? • One time – I am only one person! • Two times – one for each book I check in!

  23. What? You know the answer! • One book can be anything for fun. Ms. McIntyre won’t care if it is too hard or too easy for you! • One book must be at your reading level to practice reading with! • So 1 + 1= 2 RIGHT? Try again!

  25. Overdue means….. 1. I have kept the book longer than I the two weeks I said I would keep it. 2. I have can now keep the book for the rest of the year! 3.Someone may be waiting to read the book I have kept too long! 4. Both 1. and 3. are right!
