Weekly Highlights from Mrs. Monacelli’s Class: Learning About Harvest and the Letter U

This week in Mrs. Monacelli’s class, we focused on the Letter U and the number 6. We explored Harvest Time with a visit from Mrs. Kohl, who taught us about farming and post-harvest practices. We crafted Indian Corn, learned how popcorn is made, and discussed the significance of scarecrows by making our own. We also celebrated our Star of the Week, Christian, who introduced us to his dog. Don't forget - Scholastic Book orders are due Nov. 11, and we need classic markers and glue! Next week, our theme is the 5 Senses!

Mrs. Monacelli`s Class Week of October 28th • What we did this week: • We learned the Letter U and the number 6 • We learned about Harvest Time-Mrs. Kohl came in and talked about farming, what the machines are used for and also talked about what happens after the corn and soybeans are picked. • We made Indian Corn and learned how popcorn is made • We talked about scarecrows and why they are important and then made our own. • We learned all about Christian who was the star of the week and we got to meet his dog when his Mom came in for his special guest! • Reminders • Scholastic Book order due Tuesday Nov. 11th • In need of Classic Markers and Elmer`s glue bottles • Return permission slips for Shalom Wildlife Center by Nov. 25th. • Working on the pictures page on website-very slow process sorry for the delay! • Next weeks Star of the Week is Abby E.
