  3. Welcome!! Welcome to Hadley Middle School this PowerPoint will help introduce you to : rules, expectations, and policies. If you still have questions after the PowerPoint you can refer to your student handbook for it contains most of the information provided. If after that you still have questions ask a teacher or administrator.

  4. Haldey Hours The Hadley office is open from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. If you have questions or need help with: registration, withdrawal, fees, and student check in/out call the office at 973-7800. Back to Table of Contents

  5. Programs Hadley offers a variety of after school and during school programs for student to choose from. These include AVID where students learn the skills needed to succeed in college and universities, student council where students on the council can organize events for the school. If students arrive before 7:50 a.m. students will be required to go to the book and breakfast program where students will be supervised and have the chance to complete school work.   6. Student Expectations. Attend School Do what any staff member asks you to do the first time you are asked. Respect yourself and others. Keep your hands/feet/and objects to yourself. Be responsible for your own learning and behavior. Back to Table of Contents

  7. Hadley Dress Code Shirts/blouses/and dresses/ must cover the shoulders/upper chest/ and must be long enough so as not to show and skin in the waist area. No see-through clothing, “wife beater” undershirts, or sleeveless shirts with excessively large arm openings will not be allowed. Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than mid thigh.   8. Dress Code cont. Pajama bottoms, hats, caps, stocking hats, or other head coverings, rags, house shoes/slippers, and sunglasses are not to be worn in school. Clothing must contain acceptable logos. Acceptable logos must not promote alcohol, drugs, weapons, sex, profanity, derogatory statements, and racial or sexist slurs. Clothing promoting and type of gang affiliation will not be allowed. Back to Table of Contents

  9. Metal chains, dog collars, Chinese stars, or any clothing deemed potentially dangerous will not be allowed. No extreme hair colors or excessive makeup/writing on self and clothing will not be allowed. Also piercings other than the ear should not be shown and visible tattoos should be covered. Coats are to be put in lockers upon entering the building. Hoodiesare allowed to wear in school. Back to Table of Contents

Tardy Policy Students are to be in class everyday at 8:00 a.m., students who are not will be considered tardy and will be given an after school detention unless one of the following exceptions occurred: the student has a not from a medical professional excusing the student, they have court papers excusing the absence, or a parent has calling in prior to student arrival or arrives with a student valid excuse (i.e. car trouble, flat tire, etc.) However the school only excepts these excuses once per semester.   11. Students who are tardy to class will receive consequences according to how many times they have been tardy. First tardy-Warning to issued to the student and forfeits one hall pass. Second-Forfeit one hall pass and a parent contact. Third-Forfeit one hall pass, student to meet with teacher/team, teacher/team make parent contact. Fourth-Student receives a PBR and consequences will be assigned accordingly. Back to Table of Contents

  12. Discrimination USD 259 does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, handicap/disability, or age. Hadley does not tolerate discrimination and if students are caught discriminating another student consequences will be applied to the student. Back to Table of Contents

  13. After school, electronic devices, suspensions. Students are to be off ground or on their buses at 3:20. Electronic devices brought to school are to be turned off and put in students locker. Hadley doe not accept responsibility for lost or stolen property. Students who engage in fighting, disruptive behavior, or defiance behavior, or possession of an illegal substance will be suspended for 1 to 5 days. Students are responsible for class assignments missed during suspension. Back to Table of Contents

  14. Sports Students who wish to participate/ try out for a sports team must have a physical form on file in the office, these forms can be received from the office or Coach Ingalls. Students must also maintain a 2.0 GPA and have no F’s to participate, if not they will be on academic probation for 3 weeks and will have a chance to improve their grades until the next progress report is distributed.
