  2. Is sex sinful? God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28

  3. Is sex sinful? For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. Genesis 2:24-25

  4. Is sex sinful? Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Hebrews 13:4

  5. Is sex sinful? Sex in marriage is not sinful. It is God’s idea before the Fall. It is not shameful. It is honorable.

  6. Is sex only for childbearing? May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. Proverbs 5:18-19

  7. How do you glorify God with sex? But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. I Corinthians 7:2-3

  10. Marriage is intended to be a monogamous relationship between a man and a woman. It is a permanent and lifelong union of one man with one woman, to the exclusion of all others.

  11. It is also the proper venue for the expression and gratification of the natural need for physical intimacy (1 Corinthians 7:1-6). It is the only place for the affirmation of human sexuality.

  12. This sums up the legitimate parameters of marriage. As a complement, Solomon’s Song of Songs (1:1) provides the essential physical and emotional teachings for a satisfying marriage.

  16. Desire her Passionately (vv. 6-9) I said, “I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruits”(v. 8). Bible Truth: The Scripture places a high value on the flesh. It was the very clothing of Deity at the incarnation, and it is destined for glory at the resurrection.

  18. Welcome him Eagerly (v. 9b) May the wine go straight to my lover, flowing gently over lips and teeth. Bible Truth: There is primeval Edenic purity about physical intimacy. God gave you to each other and commanded to be one flesh (Gen 2:24).

  19. Offer yourself to him Willingly (vv. 10)

  20. Offer yourself to him Willingly (v. 10) I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. Bible Truth: She is at no disadvantage to show her desire for him because she relishes the security of her relationship to him.

  21. Conclusion How is your marriage? Do you long for those days when your desire for your spouse thrills your heart and awakens your senses? Yet, now all seems to be a thing of the past. Don’t live the rest of your lives in drudgery. God has created you for His pleasure. Part of that pleasure is ours. Take it and enjoy it.
