  2. Introduction • A PowerPoint presentation can be visually improved upon through the incorporation of slide transitions • Slide transitions are the visual movements as one PowerPoint slide changes to another

  3. Inserting a Slide Transition • From the main ribbon, select Animations

  4. Inserting a Slide Transition • Next, select the More button in the bottom right hand corner of the Transition to This Slide section of the Animation tab

  5. Inserting a Slide Transition • From here, 59 available slide transitions are displayed, divided into 6 categories: • No Transition • Fades and Dissolves • Wipes • Push and Cover • Stripes and Bars • Random

  6. Inserting a Slide Transition • As each type of slide transition is highlighted by moving the cursor on top of it, a preview of that slide transition will be played in the background, behind the dropdown • After deciding upon the desired slide transition, simply click on the slide transition to select and apply it to the slide

  7. Inserting a Slide Transition • If the selected slide transition is desired to be applied to all slides in the PowerPoint presentation, select the Apply To All button under the Animation tab

  8. Inserting a Slide Transition • If the selected slide transition is intended only for that particular slide, continue to select slides from the left hand side of the PowerPoint screen and apply slide transitions as explained previously

  9. Inserting a Slide Transition • Further slide transition customization can include the speed that one slide transitions to another, as well as sound effects • Transition speed can be changed by using the drop down key next to Transition Speed under the Animation tab • Transition speeds include: Slow, Medium, and Fast

  10. Inserting a Slide Transition • Sounds can also be played during a slide transition by selecting the drop down menu next to Transition Sound under the Animation tab

  11. Inserting a Slide Transition • A preview of the transition sound will play by rolling the cursor over the desired sound (Note: computer speakers and/or headphones are needed in order to preview transition sounds, however are not needed to insert into the presentation)

  12. Inserting a Slide Transition • After deciding upon the desired transition sound, simply click on the transition sound to select and apply it to the slide

  13. Inserting a Slide Transition • There you have it! You are a slide transition expert now! • Not only are you taking advantage of the many tools that PowerPoint 2007 has to offer, but also making your presentation one that is interesting and enjoyable to view! GREAT WORK!
