Input characteristics (reminder) • VME 32 6U • 2 independent input channels (ROS8) • Deserializer (Texas Inst. TLK 1501) with input from: • Optical receiver (Stratos Lightwave M2R-25-9-1-TL) • Copper serial link (can’t be used for Magnet Test) • Input FIFO 16 bit x 8k • Access to FIFO from deserializer or VME (debug) Giulio Dellacasa - INFN Torino
Output characteristics(reminder) • Output FIFO 32 (64) bit x 2k • FIFO readable via: • VME, 32 bit words (25 MB/s) • s-link 64 (132 MB/s with 32 bit words) • Format of data: carbon copy of data received from ROS8 • Header and trailer added Giulio Dellacasa - INFN Torino
Status • Standalone tests in Torino: • Fully tested and OK with VME • Fully tested and OK S-Link output • Test in Madrid • Tested and OK with 2 channels input from ROS-8 in Madrid and VME output • Test in Legnaro • Tested with 2 channels input from ROS-8 in VME and S-Link output (work in progress) Giulio Dellacasa - INFN Torino
Needed for magnet test • Total number of boards (4 available now) and optical receivers (to buy now) • LVDS external CLK (from TTC) • VME CPU for local access (Status and Control registers, configurations, local data readout) • S-link readout hardware (transmitter) • More tests in Legnaro if ROS-8 will be used OR • tests in Madrid if final ROS will be used Giulio Dellacasa - INFN Torino
