  2. draft     (drft) n. • Any of various stages in the development of a plan, document, or picture • A representation of something to be constructed.

  3. draft·er     (drftr) n. • One that drafts, especially a person who drafts plans or designs or a person who composes a document.

  4. Introduction • Anyone can have ideas about how they want to build or add on to a house.

  5. Cont… • To draw it so the structure can be built correctly takes the talent of an Architectural Drafter.

  6. An architectural drafter • can be self employed or work for many different companies. • is a skilled technician who designs or develops the working drawings required to guide the construction of buildings.

  12. Arch. drafters are concerned with • Cost estimates, specification writing, code and zoning applications, renderings and perspectives, • models of building, structural design, environmental system design and computer applications.

Drafting is • a universal language by means an object can be described accurately and clearly. • is the language used by engineering and architectural profession to develop and record ideas. • easy for anyone who is competent to read the drawing and is qualified to build the product can then carry out the designs.
