  3. Tyrannosaurus Rex • Name Meaning: Tyrant Lizard • Carnivore • Average life span: 30 years • Habitat: Open Woodland • Type: Predator Dinosaur • Used tail for balance • Good sense of smell • Most commonly known Return to Main Menu

  4. Pterodactyl • Name Meaning: Winged Lizard • Type: Flying Reptile • Diet: fish, insects, and small animals • Varied in size • Hunted near rivers and lakes Return to Main Menu

  5. Brontosaurus • Name Meaning: Deceptive Lizard • Type: Plant Eater • Lived in Jurassic Time Period • Swallowed stones to help grind up food instead of chewing • Long whip-like tail was used as a weapon • Known to many as “Long necks” Return to Main Menu

  6. Stegosaurus • Name Meaning: Roofed Lizard • Type: Large plant-eating dinosaur • Soft Vegetation diet • Spikes on the tail were used as weapons • Had no teeth in the front, just a beak • Thick legs held up the weight reducing it’s speed Return to Main Menu

  7. Triceratops • Name Meaning: Three horned face • Type: Plant eater, ceratopsian (horned faced dinosaur) • Lived in the late Cretaceous period • Plants and tree diet • The large tail helped balance the weight of the head Return to Main Menu

  8. Velociraptor • Name Meaning: Swift plunderer • Type: Predator • Lived in the late Cretaceous period • Diet: other dinosaurs • Traveled in packs • Fast, smart, great eyesight • Ran with their toes back to keep their claws from dulling Return to Main Menu

  9. Gallimimus • Name Meaning: Chicken Mimic • Ornithomimosaur (Ostrich-like) • Toothless beaks, long and slender fingers, walked on 2 legs • Small head well suited for digging in the mud for food • Diet: plants and animals • Lived in the late Cretaceous period Return to Main Menu
