  3. Born and raised in Thunder Bay • From the across the river a.k.a. the sticks • Vast outdoor environment to explore in • Where I spent most of my youth Growing up

  4. Between sports there was Science and Math • Really got into the Academic side of science when there were choices about what I could learn • Grade 11 and 12 Physics and Chemistry we’re a significant influence High School

  5. Favorite teacher a.k.a. Mr. Smith* • Presented Science in the most interesting manner (DEMONSTRATIONS) • Not an easy teacher but perfectly logical and fair Key Influence

  6. Originally applied for a HBSc (Chem), changed on the last day to Math • Distaste for lab writeups… • Took the science courses in university that I had to then chose those that I knew I’d enjoy Higher Education

  7. If my science students leave class having had some manner of inquiry with respect to how or why things are the way they are, then I’ll be satisfied with my work • I’ll be ecstatic if that inquiry turns into a burning desire to find out the answers to these questions Future Goals
