Tobacco and Inequalities Project Oct. 1999 – Sept. 2002 Built on the findings and recommendations of earlier work Aims • To support the development of community based services to support the reduction of smoking among those living on low income. • To develop evaluation approaches relevant to those working at community level undertaking smoking based work. • To support the national, regional and local initiatives developed in response to the White Paper on Tobacco, `Smoking Kills` and the White Paper on health, `Towards a Healthier Scotland`.

Tobacco and Inequalities ProjectSmall Grant Funding • 6 grants - £10,000 over one year of operation. • Allocated to support smoking reduction among those living on low income. • Innovation and experimentation. • Investigation of new ways of working, offer new services, improve and develop the way existing services are offered. • Sustainability. • Overcoming barriers. • Evaluation.
