Development of Long-Term International Standards for Arctic Operations

This proposal outlines the development of long-term international standards for Arctic operations, targeting essential areas such as ice management and security. Focused on the needs of Russian exploration and production (E&P) companies, particularly at Prirazlomnoye and Shtokman, it seeks to establish a new subcommittee under GOST R/TC 23 and proposes key standards for ISO. The initiative is backed by the Barents 2020 project and aims to standardize operational safety and efficiency through comprehensive guidelines, research, and monitoring in the unique Arctic environment.
