  1. Alternative Spring Break Second General Body Meeting Fall 2013

  2. Agenda for the meeting: 1. Overview of application process 2. Winter trip presentations 3. General Q & A session

Step 1: Check out website for Power points on each trip! • Go to: www.asb-uic.org • Put mouse over “Get Involved” • Click on Trips • Select Winter 2013 • Review the trips to get a good sense of what you are interested in! You will be asked to rank the trips from most preferred (#1) to least preferred (#9). • We want to make sure we put people in trips where they will be able to have a positive influence on ASB experience! • Each trip will cost $150.

  4. Step 2: Fill Out the Application Online! • On that same page, click on “Apply Here!” • You will be asked general information about yourself (Major, contact info, etc.) • There will be a few questions that will let us know a little bit about your personality!  • It is preferred if you are an official member or a member in progress…BUT it is not required! • Only requirement is to be a UIC student (Undergrad or Grad)

Step 3: Print out the application and bring it to our office! • We need a paper-copy of your application in order to sort out the applicants for each trip (the online version is a back-up) • There will be a folder on the window of our office labeled “ASB” (if not for some reason, slide it under the door!) • The ASB office is located in room 472 SCE (take the elevator next to Sbarro’s, up to the 3rd floor, walk into campus programs and all the way to the back blue wall, and take stairs up to 4th floor. The office is the first one on your left)

  6. Step 4: Sign up for an interview! • There will be a spreadsheet taped to the ASB office door where you will pick an interview time and write your name! • You will be interviewed by the ASB E-board members • Interviews last about 10-15 minutes • They help us get to know you a little better!  • After the interview, wait for an email to hear whether you were accepted or not! Good Luck!!

  7. *** DEADLINES *** • November 14th: Applications due at 11:59pm!!! • November 18th-22nd: Interview week • November 25th: Accepted/Declined Email (Note: Site leaders will be informed earlier, maybe Saturday) • November 26th: Site Leader meeting • November 27th: Meet your group day/Make payment Finals Madness! (By the way, good luck!) • December 15th: Trips leave – off on an adventure! 
