The Healthy Kids Program at the Medical Center Health System, led by John O’Hearn, aims to enhance pediatric healthcare services in the community. Despite a shortage of providers and a need for a developed health curriculum in ECISD, the initiative seeks to expand access through partnerships with Covenant Children’s and Texas Tech. With the addition of three new providers and the establishment of clinics dedicated to pediatrics, the program strives to engage over 15,000 students in health literacy and physical activity, ensuring a healthier future for local children.
