The food and beverage sector plays a critical role in Trinidad and Tobago's economy, employing nearly 10,000 individuals and being the second-largest employer in the nation. As the largest contributor to the manufacturing sector's GDP, with over TT$3.5 billion, the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) has taken significant steps in conformity assessment activities. These include the implementation of WTO/TBT agreements and the establishment of a national TBT Committee to ensure compliance with international standards. The focus is on harmonizing technical regulations and enhancing export-led growth.
