  2. Skills • INTERPERSONAL and SOCIAL skills are the key ones. A good teacher has got communicative abilities is open-minded to his/her students, and what is more important has got some imagination and knowledge about people who he/she teaches. Thus the teacher should be PASSIONATE • EMPATHY and the ABILITY OF VERBAL TRANSFER. While talking about the prominent teacher we talk about charisma expressed in the form of the respect towards the teacher. However being respected does not mean being infallible. Contemproary school is not a place whre lectures are led in cathedra, it is rather based on

  3. Courses/studies QUALIFICATIONAL COURSE- in the field of a taught subject or pedagogical training. It enables the teacher who already has proper education to teach. PEDAGOGICAL TRAINING –psychological, pedagogy and didactics training. Lasts 270 hours and it is combined with the major subject and teacher’s practice (150 hours). In case of vocational subjects the training lasts not less than 150 hours. At the end of the training the teachers gets a degree diploma or a certificate. TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTION- it may be either teacher traning college, foreign languages college, kindergarden teacher college, primary teaching collegem or technical pedagogical college. STUDIES OF THE FIRST DEGREE – include either BA studies or engineer studies MA STUDIES – either studies of the second degree or homogeneus MA studies

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS: 1) completed MA studies with the major consistent with the taught subject, and the pedagogical background, or 2) MA studies with the major the basics of which correspond to the contents of teaching of a particular subject and the pedagogical background, or 3) MA studies with the major in a different subject and the post-graduate studies with the major in a particular subject and the pedagogical background.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER OF TEORETICAL VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS: 1) The same studies as in the case of the teachers in secondary schools, or 2) the studies of the first degree with the major corresponding to the taught subject and pedagogical background, or 3) the studies of the first degree the basics of which correspond to the contents of teaching of a particular subject and the pedagogical background.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER inmiddleschools (gimnazjum) and inbasic VOCATIONAL schools: 1) The same studies as in the case of the teachers in secondary schools, or 2) the studies of the first degree corresponding to the taught subject and the pedagogical background, or b) the studies of the first degree the basics of which correspond to the contents of teaching of a particular subject and the pedagogical background, or b) BA or MA studies with the major in a different subject and the post-graduate studies or a qualificational course with the major in a particular subject and the pedagogical background.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS: • The same studies as inthecase of theteachersinsecondaryschools, or • 2) theteachinginstitutionwiththe major corresponding to theteachingsubject, or • 3) theteachinginstitutionwiththe major otherthanthetaughtsubject and thequalificationalcoursecorresponding to theteachingsubject.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS (classes 1-3) and inthekindergarden: 1) BA or MA studies at the faculty of pedagogy with the major preparing to working with children at the ages of 3 to 9, or 2) The teaching institution with the major preparing to working with children at the ages of 3 to 9.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO BECOME A TEACHER OF practical VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS inbasicvocationalschools, technicalschools and post-secondaryschools: 1) The same studies as in the case of the teachers in secondary schools, or 2) Completed pedagogical post-graduate technical studies, or 3) Completed the maturity examination and the examination of professional competences in the taught subject and the pedagogical background and at least two years of working in the profession that he/she will teach, or 4) holds the master title in the profession that he/she will teach and the pedagogical background.

  11. Qualificationsneeded to be thelibraryteacher: 1) MA studies with the major in library studies on the level reqired in a given type of school and pedagogical background, or 2) Completed higher education on the level required in a given type of school and pedagogical background and also completed: a) post-graduate studies or the qualification course with the major in library studies, b) post secondary school with the major in library studies.

  12. Qualificationsneeded to be theReligiuseducationteacher: Holds a person who meets the requirements specified in the agreement between the Ministry of Education, the Polish Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Church and the authoritiies of the church, and other religious associations.

  13. Qualificationsneeded to be the foreign languagesteacher: 1) MA studies at the faculty of philology with the major in a given foreign language or applied linguistics and the pedagogical background, or 2) Higher education in the country where the particular foreign language is also the official language and the pedagogical background, or 3) Completed the studies of the first degree: a) At the faculty of philology with the major in a given foreign language and the pedagogical background, or b) with the major in a given foreign language or applied linguistics and the pedagogical background, or 4) Graduated from the Teacher Training Colege with the major of a given foreign language, or 5) Graduated from any higher studies and holds: a) The certificate of the state language exam in a foreign language (2nd degree), or b) The certificate of the foreign language knowledge at advanced or proficiency level, and the pedagogical background.
