  25. S3: TAC OIC Key Highlights: • Land Nav/Land Nav Written • TACSOP’s

  26. S3: TAC OIC AAR Movement Techniques and Formations • Issue: Distance and Direction • Discussion: Cadets were guided by OIC on lanes rather than utilizing their map reading skills. Cadets may have been more challenged by having to plot points and generate their own distance and direction. • Recommendation: Provide Start Point and End Point for all tactical lanes at Lab. Issue Hillendale maps to all cadets. • Issue: OPFOR • Discussion: Cadets would have liked to have actual variables in the field rather than simulated ones. There was sometimes confusion by the cadets because of the vagueness of the variables applied by the TAC’s. By adding personnel to act as OPFOR for the exercises we could be better stimulate training by having cadets react to actual variables. • Recommendation: Utilize MS4’s as OPFOR for not only STX but for all tactical training.
