    1. Cavalry Scout Club Overview

    2. Provide overview of Cavalry Scout Club and an update on current training objectives and schedule. Purpose

To better prepare cadets for combat through education and training on doctrinal and current missions of United States Cavalry and Armor organizations through rigorous field exercises and training events; inspire cadets through exposure to the history and traditions of the Armys mounted maneuver force. Club Mission

    4. Train in such a manner that prepares Cadets to lead and fight in the GWOT as mounted, combined-arms leaders. Training will nest the Troop METL with the BTD training guidance and the CFT 2 collective tasks while reinforcing Military Science Core Course learning objectives. Allows for flexibility in scheduling training objectives for BTD are met in multiple forums. Supports BTD objectives to provide Cadets with reinforcement training in tasks contained in training guidance. Creates leaders within the Corps of Cadets for summer training. Provides conduit between academic year instruction, academic year training, and summer training. Replicate current operating environment and missions assigned to Cavalry and Armor units in the CENTCOM AOR.

    5. BTD Collective Tasks Demonstrate proficiency at convoy operations. Demonstrate proficiency at checkpoint operations. Demonstrate proficiency at IED identification. CFT Collective Tasks Execute access control point operations. Execute QRF operations. Execute convoy operations. Execute movement to contact through search and attack operations. Execute cordon and search operations. **USED BTD / CFT COLLECTIVE TASKS TO BUILD SQUADRON METL FOR THE CAVALRY SCOUT CLUB**

    6. Conduct zone/area reconnaissance. Conduct area security. Conduct route security. Conduct urban area reconnaissance. Establish base operations. Conduct a cordon and search in an urban area. Employ a reserve (QRF) during stability ops.

    8. Blackhawk Troop, 1-21 CAV deploys during Academic Year 2007 within the NORTHCOM AO in order to prepare as future mounted leaders. Troop Mission

    10. Conduct zone/area reconnaissance. Conduct area surveillance. Conduct convoy security operations Conduct urban area reconnaissance. Secure a basecamp. Support checkpoint operations. Execute actions on contact.
