[Partha Banerjee] Dubai: Renasense puts the spotlight on Women’s Health

Partha Banerjee Dubai noted that Renasense is complementary to and not in competition with the Ministry of Health’s dialysis unit. “We are not here to compete with the government but rather to support it. Let’s say there is a long waiting list in the government unit, we cannot let 170 patients die,” said Partha Banerjee.

The activities, which took place at the Espace building, were organised by the local branch of Renasense, a global name in renal care and dialysis worldwide. Also during that same ceremony, the Seychelles National Kidney Foundation (SNKF) was launched by dialysis patient and former minister Peter Sinon in the presence of Vice-President Vincent Meriton and the Minister for Industry, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation Wallace Cosgrow, dialysis patients and staff members of Renasense. [Partha Banerjee] Dubai: Renasense puts the spotlight on Women’s Health | 2/13/2019 Among other activities organized for the occasion was a talk on dialysis by Dr Aninda Chatterjee followed by a presentation on the smart renal diet chart by Master Chef Raja Majumder. There was also a quiz and poster competitions under the theme „Know your kidney‟. To put emphasis on the importance of women‟s health, specifically health of their kidneys, Renasense provided 20 free world class dialysis to female patients. The chief executive of Renasense, Partha Banerjee Dubai, handed over a bouquet of flowers to VP Meriton as a sign of their gratitude for the support given by VP and his office. In turn the VP presented the bouquet to a female patient and took the opportunity to thank all women who were present at the event. 1

  3. “Thank you for being our backbone, for standing behind us and allowing us to be who we are today. We in turn pledge to continue to nurture, support and care for you because we love you and without you we won‟tbe who we are today,” he said. Mr Sinon said the number of people on dialysis in Seychelles are increasing and this is alarming as island nations are more prone to end stage renal disease (ESRD). [Partha Banerjee] Dubai: Renasense puts the spotlight on Women’s Health | 2/13/2019 He said the government has improved the hospital‟s dialysis unit as it is now bigger, better equipped and better administered. Ms Sinon, who has had dialysis sessions all over the world – in Cuba, London, Washington, Sri lanka, India, Kenya –said: “In Seychelles our dialysis situation is not the worst that I‟ve seen and over the years it gets better and better. Renasense has now set a higher standard,” he said. Mr Partha Banerjee Dubai said they are creating a benchmark in Seychelles with elevated standards. “I feel that the time has come to bring facilities to Seychelles that can be compared to the best in the world,” he said. 2

Let‟s say there is a long waiting list in the government unit, we cannot let 170 patients die,” said Partha Banerjee. He said they are not looking for profit from the locals as they charge US $200 per session but they are instead focusing on medical tourism as they charge foreigners US $350 per session.
