LISTEN: What is similar and what is different about these two excerpts. Tonality is the use of Major and Minor scales in music. The character of a piece of music is related to its key centre or tonality. In these two pieces they are both based around the same melody yet are arranged in separate tonalities. The first being major and the last being minor. The melodies differ slightly to accommodate each scale (Major/ Minor) and the accompaniment for both is also arranged with the different types of chord available. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
