  1. Contextual Information A form needed for every entry! Found in the portfolio instructions under Entry Forms.

  2. Contextual Information Form Use the same form for every entry! Make copies of it and place it in your entry after the cover page. Yippee! Same one for all entries!

  3. Contextual Information Form Only One Exception… If you teach at multiple schools, then you need to complete a form for each school as needed.

  4. Contextual Information Form Hand written – make it legible Typed – 12 font, Times New Roman, Single Spaced, and easy on the acronyms!

  5. Contextual Information Form Purpose: To get a better understanding of your school, district, and community as it fits into the “big picture” of your entry

  6. Question #1 Fill in the blank Easy & Quick School info, class info, student info, grade level info. Question #2 Short Answer Also easy! State info District statistics, School statistics, Community info Contextual Information Form

  7. Writing Question #2 Think @ a State Level… • Standards / Expectations • Policies Handed Down to Districts • Assessments? • Changes?

  8. Writing Question #2 Think @ the District Level… • Population – largish or smallish • Mandates upon the schools or teachers • Grants available or being received • Policies that impact you? • Wide spread poverty?

  9. Writing Question #2 Think @ the Community Level… • Urban / Rural • Agricultural / Big Business • Suburban / Apartments • Community Involvement Available?

  10. Writing Question #2 Think @ the School Level… • Parental Support • Demographics • Curriculum • Poverty? • School wide – interventions, policies, or standards
