TCS UK “Young people and technology” programme • Why is it important? • Computing and telecoms related higher education courses in the UK have declined by 44% since 2001 • Computing A-levels have declined by 60% since 2003 • IT-related GCSE courses have declined by 57% since 2005 • Approximately 17% of the IT workforce is female • A potential talent pipeline challenge for TCS in the UK • Young people and employability is a burning public policy issue and likely to remain so for the next five to 10 years.
