OVERVIEW • GW-CEEE and NYS Team - Analyzed Living Environment materials (standards, curriculum, textbooks, test, lesson plans) - Identified academic vocabulary for frameworks - Prepared list of grammatical structures - Identified most prevalent language functions - Drafted outline of proposed Living Environment Framework

  6. NEXT STEPS • Pilot tool in selected school districts across the State • Conduct Professional Development for ESL, ELA and Living Environment teachers • Expand tool to other content areas • Include in RTTT initiatives • Work with statewide networks to implement/ expand professional development
