  1. I know that I am a unique individual, influenced by my background, experiences and perceptions. I understand that people are who they are because of their personality, background and experiences, language, place, religion, social and cultural traditions etc I can communicate and work effectively with others in my class, school, community and in the wider world, listening to what others say as well as expressing my own thoughts and feelings.

  2. I can tell you some of the key elements that make up my identity. I can tell you what it means to have a sense of belonging. I can explain some characteristics a global citizen.

Geoscapes • Imagine this room is a map of the UK with: • Edinburgh at that end & Brighton at that  • Position yourself in a special place with which you feel a connection; talk to others to get your position right, then talk to those near you about your connection. • Now imagine the room is a world map with:  The USA at that end & Japan at that end  • Position yourself in a place with which you have a connection; talk to others to get your position right, then talk to those near you about your connection Adapted from SLN (School Linking Network)
