The Challenge • What we promised DIUS (cont): • Work closely with Salford voluntary and community groupsto identify and create ‘ladders of engagement’ • Deliver consistently outstanding Basic Skills provision • Develop and deliver employability skills provision • Develop level 4 for local employers, including foundation degrees. 8 April 2009

  8. The Opportunities • 16-18 learners grow by 6% to 5,684 • Adult responsive grows by 2.1% to 5,106 • Employer responsive grows by 95% to 4,300 • Second biggest college in GM 8 April 2009

  19. 14 weeks since the merger : • Merger/harmonisation of college staff and processes continues. • £36million turnover • ~ 1000 staff • 5,700 learners aged 16-18 • 5,700 learners aged 19+ • >£2 million Train to Gain • Closer relationship with Council. • John Warmisham joins Corporation • SSP + Exec => CAA • Orthodox Jewish Partnership Forum • Salford Recession Task Group • Closer relationship with University. 8 April 2009
