  1. PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION • Introduce our company and its technology • Outline our product offerings and services • Encourage further discussion and testing

  2. AVRAAM CORP. • 2007 Ohio Incorporated company • Operations conducted in Akron, Ohio • Holds the licensed rights to Ultrasonic De-vulcanization, invented by U of Akron

  3. SERVICES OFFERED • De-vulcanization of a Manufacturer’s production rubber waste, thereby allowing the Manufacturer to re-use the waste in his production, and recover lost production costs • We lease machines to Manufacturers to process at their location • We offer a tolling service at our location

  4. COMPANY’S OBJECTIVE • Recycling GRT, rubber wastes and thermosets through devulcanization, decrosslinking, thereby enabling others to perform compounding and revulcanization

  5. SAMPLE LIST OF RUBBERS AND THERMOSETS SUITABLE FOR DECROSSLINKING • GRT • SBR UNFILLED AND CB FILLED • NR UNFILLED AND CB FILLED • SBR/NR • ISOPRENE RUBBER UNFILLED • BUTADIENE RUBBER UNFILLED AND CB FILLED • BUTYL RUBBER UNFILLED • TIRE CURING BLADDER • EPDM UNFILLID AND CB FILLED • EPDM ROOFING MEMBRANE • SILICONE RUBBER UNFILLED AND PRECIPITATED AND FUMED SILICA FILLED • POLYURETHANE RUBBER UNFILLED AND CB FILLED • HNBR • FLUOROELASTOMER • EVA FOAM • CROSSLINKED HDPE • POLYURETHANE HIGH RESILIENCY FOAM

  6. VARIOUS DEVULCANIZATION METHODS • Pyrolysis • Crushing, grinding, pulverization • Cryogenics • Use of chemicals or steam • Microwave energy vs. • Ultrasonics

  7. DISADVANTAGES OF OTHER DEVULCANIZAITON METHODS • Process may take several steps and time • Process may change the characteristic of the rubber • Process may be costly and labor intensive • Resulting devulcanized rubber may spontaneously revulcanize • Rubber may not be reusable for same purpose

  8. ADVANTAGES OF ULTRASONICS • No chemicals involved • Not labor intensive, a near-automated process • Fast devulcanization • Continuous process • Devulcanized rubbers can be revulcanized • Rubber characteristics unchanged • Rubber can be reused for same purpose • Decrosslinkedthermosets can be molded

  9. ULTRASONIC PROCESS • Material is feed into a hopper and into an extruder • In the barrel of the extruder the material is heated • Pressure is exerted upon the material as it leaves the extruder • Ultrasound is applied in combination with heat and pressure, resulting in devulcanization

  10. RESULT • Ultrasonic devulcanization of rubber preferrentially breaks apart the carbon-sulfur, or peroxide cured, or certain other, cross links that occur during the vulcanization process • Ultrasonic devulcanized rubber can be treated like virgin rubber and revulcanized into new shapes

  11. OUTPUT • Devulcanized rubber is soft and reprocessable • The bonds are de-cross linked Post-Processed Devulcanized Rubber Pre-Processed Vulcanized Rubber

  12. MATERIAL PREP • Material should be free from large pieces of metal and other debris • Material should be 10 mesh to 120 mesh in size (other sizes are possible)

  13. DEVULCANIZING MACHINE

  14. ULTRASONIC EXTRUDER300 LBS/HR SIDE VIEW FRONT VIEW

  15. MACHINE SPECIFICS

  16. NEXT STEPS • A customer may send to our shop 1000 lbs of material for us to process • We charge $1,000.00 to process (negotiable) • Customer will then evaluate the devulcanized material and determine suitability

  17. LEASING VS. TOLLING • Leasing – if the customer has ample volume of waste, we will provide a machine at their location • Tolling – for smaller quantities we offer to process a customer’s material at our location

  18. PRICING • $0.22 to $0.75 per pound of material processed Leasing and Tolling Discounts available for Price Branding
