This analysis examines the percentages of high school students who rarely or never wore bicycle helmets and seat belts, as well as those who rode with drivers who had been drinking alcohol, based on the 2013 National Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Key findings indicate a decline in unsafe behaviors from 1991 to 2013, with notable variations by sex, grade, and race/ethnicity. Understanding these trends is crucial for developing targeted interventions aimed at reducing unintentional injuries among teens.
