Core Mooring Data

DESCRIPTION

This project focuses on the processing, validation, and archiving of core mooring data streams including pCO2, surface CTD, GPS, ADCP, and meteorological data. Led by Brian Schlining at MBARI, with contributions by Fred Bahr, it aims to ensure the quality and accessibility of mooring data for scientific applications. The project addresses challenges related to data calibration, documentation, and dissemination, while improving software for data management as part of the MOOS initiative.

NetCDF format requires an interface for most scientists to utilize the data. 4. Are additional external metadata required? 5. Metadata is collected from cfg files and other metadata files. extract Hourly netCDF Daily netCDF • Processing • Calibration • Quality Control Text Files NetCDF archives

  12. Data pathways Oasis Data (raw) LAS .cfg MOOS DM (Mike McCann) DODS Issues: 1. LAS uses Ferret for plotting. Ferret requires rigid netCDF format. 2. DODS data can be imported into Matlab, Ferret, Excel, C, and Java programs. However, DODS URL’s are difficult to construct Notes: 1. LAS provides data browsing and access capabilities via the web. extract Hourly netCDF Daily netCDF • Processing • Calibration • Quality Control Text Files NetCDF archives
