Nearshore Mooring Group: Original Budget and Intent for Data Collection

The Nearshore Mooring Group, including members like Marlin Atkinson and Eric Firing, focused on establishing two nearshore moorings equipped with advanced instrumentation. These moorings will collect critical data on temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a, total suspended solids, nutrient levels, and dissolved oxygen. A dedicated network of sensors along Oahu’s southern shore will facilitate real-time reporting of physical, optical, and chemical information. The project entails fabrication costs and technician time for effective deployment and operation.
