Program Analysis • New, customized analysis service to assess individual interdisciplinary environmental (IE) degree programs • Based on results of first comprehensive study of IE programs (343 degrees at 260 campuses nationwide) • Explores knowledge & skills components of programs • How programs are organized administratively • Curricula oriented towards system science, adaptive management or policy and governance

  12. Council of Energy Research and Education Leaders (CEREL) • Multidisciplinary membership organization of heads of academic energy centers, institutes and programs • Currently 40 members • First international associate: University of Kyoto’s Center of Excellence in Energy Sciences

What does CEREL do? • Members work together to advance the role of higher education in the energy field through • Research – advocates support of energy research as well as advances the national debate about energy • Education – shares approaches to prepare the future workforce • Collaborating for Success – engagement, education and outreach, and communications

EnvironMentors • Prepares high school students from under-represented backgrounds for degree programs in environmental and related science fields • Students placed in one-to-one mentoring relationships with volunteers • Together they develop environmental science research projects each academic year
