The Masai people of Kenya are renowned for their rich culture and tradition, yet many children lack basic education due to economic and social barriers. With your help, we can change this. The Ed Colina Foundation actively supports educational initiatives in the Kitui village, providing resources for children who face challenges such as long distances to school and financial constraints. By donating, you can help us build a school for the Masai children, offering them the opportunity to learn and thrive while also providing meals to those in need.

Highlands Kenya By Trevor Hewins and Jackson Lehrter
The Masai Background • They are the most well known because they offer a glimpse of their culture • They continue to herd cows, goats, and sheep while other tribes strive for development • The women occupy a submissive role • Their houses are made of wooden branches, cow dung, and polythene papers
About Ed Colina • We can help the education of the Masai children by donating to the Ed Colina Foundation. • Ed Colina went to Saint Xavier High School and Xavier College. • He completed a number of educational, agricultural, building projects in a remote village in Kenya called Kitui. • He has done other things like the St. Timothy School serving 190 children in Athi River slum. • And the St. Timothy Feeding Project serving porridge and lunch to the 190 children
Education • Education is often the best and fastest way to improvement • Most Kenyan children don’t make it to school until they are 10 or 11 • Kids are placed in classes with students that are much younger • Girls are further disadvantaged because they must first complete a set of chores • Boys are also given first priority with the purchase of books and uniforms • Children who lack books and uniform are sent home • Few students reach 8th grade, fewer reach High School
Education (cont.) • Children are not able to attend school due to their age and the distance from the nearest school • The nearest school is 8 kilometers away ( about 5 miles one way) • We know that there are at least 51 children preschool age who are not attending school currently
Please Help! • Please donate some money to help us build a school to help the Masai! With that money, we could help educate the children and also feed them !
