Recruitment, Training and Placement of Undergrads (8 docs) • Recruitment, training and placement of undergraduates • Document with everything you need to know about how to recruit, train and place undergraduates in schools • Undergraduate Handbook • A comprehensive introduction to the scheme, assessment etc • Example forms and agreements • module application form, module interview form, confirmation of placement, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct and child protection statement to be completed by prospective undergraduates.

This document can be given to teachers at the start of a placement. • Example school background information form • To be completed by schools and assessed by academic when choosing suitable schools to place undergraduates in.

Summary • UAS provides a framework for a degree course module which gives classroom-based experience to undergraduates. Through this module UAS aims to: • Provide undergraduates with key transferable skills. Enhance employability. • Provide role models to enthuse pupils about STEM subjects. • Give subject specific support to teachers in the classroom; enhancing the curriculum and providing opportunities for continuing professional development • Provide teaching experience that encourages undergraduates to consider a career in teaching. • Inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians and linguists.
