  7. Your greatest joy Doesn't come from pursuing Your greatest joyBut God's greatest purposeIn creating you

  9. The glory of GodIs the joy of man

  10. Glory= doxa- weightiness, gravity

  11. Glory= doxa- weightiness, gravityMagnificence, excellence, Preeminence, majestyA thing belonging to God

  12. Glorify= Recognize what is

  13. Glorify= To recognize what isPoint toRehearse his greatnessPraise for who he isAnd what he's done

  14. And to live in lightOf the truth of this knowledge

  15. Jesus= Perfect ManSavior and Example

  16. Jesus= Perfect ManSavior and ExampleShows what Man wasOriginally created to be

  17. God's not hidingHe wants to be knownNot as an addition or distractionBut as a God who changes usFor our own ultimate good

  18. “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing

  19. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise

  20. HumilityPointing to the Father= Glory comes from recognition

  21. Jesus is the Perfect Man= Example

  22. “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me...

  23. I do not receive glory from people…Purpose is to Point to the FatherElse it becomes stumbling block

  24. Receiving gloryFrom peopleWill murder my abilityTo know and follow God fully

  25. If I need their praiseAnd their acceptance And if they control that praiseThen they control my actionsAnd my focus

  26. Some Pharisees believedIn Jesus but were afraid toCome out of the Closet…

  27. …for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God- John 12:43

  28. "You guys don't control meBecause my goal isn't to receive glory from you, but to glorify my Father in heaven…"- Jesus

  29. Jesus is the exampleOf what we were created to beThat we would know GodThen glorify him as GodSo others can know him

  30. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?- John 5

  31. Trying to impressAnd being impressed withEach otherLeads to functional atheism

  32. Jesus continually pointsTo the Father in order toTo glorify him

  33. Jesus is the exampleOf what we were Created to be

  34. God's not hidingHe wants to be known

  35. Right before betrayalArrest, trials, suffering and death

  36. “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you

  37. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him

  43. We were CreatedTo bring glory to GodWhich produces our greatest joy

  45. Images…imageThat's what they do

  46. CreationLet us make man in our image…In the image of God he made him, male and female he made them- Genesis 1

  47. Because he's an egotisticalInsecure, small little god?

  48. Because nothing createdCan match God's excellenceSo he alone satisfiesAnd glorifying him simply Recognizes this truth

  49. …bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory- Isaiah 43:6-7
