  5. Where are we now? CCSD’s African American graduation rate has increased 8.97 percent – From 48.9 percent in 2011-12 To 57.87 percent in 2012-13

  6. Where are we now? 643more Latino/Hispanic students graduated in 2012-13 than 2011-12 That is an 11.6 percentage point increase from 2011-12 to 2012-13

My brother’s keeper • A school district and community partnership to ensure boys and young men of color are connected to resources that include: • Third-grade literacy: “Each One, Read One” initiative • Community outreach and after-school mentoring to all students • Community/Student events and listening sessions

HOPE² behavior modification GRANTS • Grants will fund positive behavior programs or on-site behavior programs to avoid placement in behavior schools • Some high schools have already seen progress with on-site behavior programs such as Schools Targeting Alternative Reform On-Site (STAROn) program
