  7. UK Site Report - 5 • Statistics • We continuously collect statistics for all terminals. Many statistics are available. But beware data protection! • The following examples are from Cilcennin. 7

UK Satcomms Report • Overview • A key event was change of hub/terminal vendor • It was decided to migrate RW terminals to new system • Terminal migration took place in October/November • There were some initial performance problems, which have now been solved. • Issues • Change of hub/terminal vendor • Concerns about the health aspects of wifi, especially in schools 9

Assessment of the Test Runs - 1 • Overview • Despite post-migration problems there was a general welcome for the system • Sites are very different, some are enthusiastic & active whilst some are silent and not active • Sites are generally using general Internet tools like Search Engines rather than the RW-specific applications • Challenges • Increased use of RW applications by existing sites • Addition of more applications suitable to existing sites • Location of more suitable sites for next phase • Bandwidth Issues • N/A 10

Deliverable Status - 1 • D8.1 (Market defn & Business Case) • Overview • Effort - 27 man months • Partners involved – 11 main + others in WPD • Document Issues - 3 in this 18 month period • M21 initial – outline market plan and 1st version of business case • M25 update – market research and analysis • M30 update – market monitoring 11

Deliverable Status - 2 • Status • Since august several draft documents issued with requests for contribution (as requested or requested areas of the document) • Initial issue already 2 months late, and we now plan (have) to deliver the initial issue by the end of Jan • Concerns • The document is immature • Broadband is reasonably well covered but would benefit from more information about national broadband initiatives • The biggest hole is the lack of information about national edcuational systems & markets. 12

Deliverable Status - 3 • The feasibility document already covers some of the material • It will be difficult to justify much effort in the work package • Reviewers might be critical and we need an approach • From the comments received so far it is not clear if partners • Want to be involved • Have the necessary resources 13
