  2. The Christian and the Holy Spirit Christians are to “live by the Spirit” (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 5:25) Christians are to be “led by the Spirit” (Rom. 8:14; Gal. 5:18) Christians are to “walk by the Spirit” (Gal. 5:16) Christians are to “worship by the Spirit” (Phil. 3:3)

Led By the Spirit Demonstrates that one is exercising his free-will to choose (Acts 7:51; Eph. 4:30; 1 Thess. 5:20): he is voluntarily led, not forced against his will Demonstrates that one is willing to choose what is right (Rom. 8:4-6; 1 Cor. 2:14): he is willing to be spiritually-minded, not fleshly-minded Demonstrates that one is willing to choose what is right continually (Rom. 8:1,13; Gal. 5:16,25): he lives and walks daily by the Spirit, not off and on irregularly Demonstrates that one is exercising selflessness (Heb. 3:7-8): he is humble, not too stubborn to be led

Led By the Spirit Demonstrates that one is willing to follow God’s word (Jn. 6:63; 1 Cor. 2:13; Eph. 3:3-5; 1 Pet. 1:12; 2 Pet. 1:21; Rev. 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22): he will be led by what the Spirit says (teaches), not by subjectivism or emotionalism Demonstrates that one is a child of God (Rom. 8:14-16): he has become of Christian on God’s terms, not man’s terms Demonstrates that one is a true, spiritually-minded Christian (Rom. 14:17; Gal. 5:23-24): he produces the inward fruit of the Spirit, not just an outward show of Christianity

  5. Will You Be Led By the Spirit? It is important to let the Holy Spirit lead us in our lives (Jer. 10:23) Being led by the Holy Spirit is a privilege available to all mankind (Rev. 22:17) Will you allow yourself to be led by the Spirit today?
