Geographical Information Systems (GIS) & Mapping

This update outlines the development plan for GIS and mapping services aimed at enhancing client offerings. We will improve data visualization, accessibility, and usability for existing and new users, including non-data specialists. The plan involves two service packages: a basic visualization option and an enhanced analytical tool. Both packages will be integrated with ARCMap from ESRI for compatibility. Current efforts focus on data validation, IT integration, and client communication. The rollout of the basic package is set for late Q3 2007, with the enhanced package expected in Q4 2007.

Concept & overview • Provide enhanced services to clients through map based products • Improve visualisation of data • Develop spatial & relational aspects of data • Improve accessibility of data for • Existing users • New users • Non-data specialists • Increase usability of data through specialisation and tailoring to client needs • Provide map based outputs for analysis, presentations & reports • Develop Infield’s position as a key provider of offshore data, analysis and information services

GIS & Mapping Utilises standard GIS software, ARCMap from ESRI – ensures compatibility with other systems Two options - Basic or enhanced package Basic is a simple map based visualisation Enhanced is a sophisticated business tool to support business professionals and senior management Ease of use is a key aspect.

  6. Clear presentation with meaning Basic package will allow you to select view by one of 13 regions And allow you to view and print selected views right down to development level

  7. But the data is basic and restricted with no data export plus… No updates of data without further payment Package cost is subsidised by advertisements This is the low tech wide usage option
