Effective response time standards are essential for emergency services, guiding performance and enhancing community trust. This report discusses the importance of meeting response time goals, evaluates our current performance, and outlines strategies we've implemented for improvement, including pre-alert systems, upgraded MDTs, enhanced dispatcher training, and the revival of QA/QI programs. Additionally, we emphasize the necessity of accurate data reporting, detailing methods such as using "UU" codes for extended response times and ensuring all time records from CAD data are valid.

Objectives • Why do we have response time standards/goals? • What are they. • How well do we meet them? • What have we done to improve? • How can we ensure accurate data?
Some Improvements • Implemented pre-alert • Upgraded MDTs to CF30s • Increased protocol training for dispatchers • Re-established dispatch QA/QI program • Implemented pre-launch (Mar 2011)
Accurate Reporting • First Arriving Unit Box • Is it checked • Is it the first arriving unit (engine/fire, ALS/medical)
Accurate Reporting • Use a “UU” code for response times over 5 minutes
Accurate Reporting • Uncheck the priority button on Code 1 responses
Accurate Reporting • Correct invalid times using CAD data
