Issue 4: The Content Social technologies can be the source of negative content Your role Help students andeducators evaluate the content of social networks and make responsible decisions
Issue 5: The Profile Essential information age skills include understanding the consequences of sharing personal information and learning to balance the desire for interaction with the importance of personal safety Your role Provide students with strategies for protecting their personal identity and security.
Issue 6: The Access Go with comfort level of teachers and their students – let the guidelines be the potential for enhancing the learning experience Your role Build student social technology skills through guided experiences involving the use of both closed and open social systems
Issue 7: The Policies Are your policies able to handle challenges to web sites? Your role Ensure that your library policies are up-to-date and reflect the unique attributes of social technology
Issue 8: The Potential Always be on the lookout for opportunities that involve students in authentic, meaningful activities that promote learning Your role Be an advocate of Intellectual Freedom. Promote applications of social technology that motivate young learners to read, think and actively participate in meaningful projects and collaborations.
