  3. Parts in the world with Tropical Climate

  4. Subtypes • Tropical rainforest climate (Af): All twelve months have an average precipitation of at least 60 mm. These climates usually occur within 5–10° latitude of the equator. Examples of such countries: Singapore, Cebu (Philippines), Biak(Indonesia)

  5. Subtypes • Tropical monsoon climate(Am): During the monsoon season, countriescould receive up to 172 centimeters of rain over 4 months. These climates often occur beyond the equatorial region between 10◦ to 25 ◦ latitude of the equator. Examples of such countries: Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Chittagong (Bangladesh), Brazil

  6. Subtypes • Tropical savanna climate(Aw): The Tropical savanna climate lies at latitudes of about 5 - 10° and 15 - 20° from the equator. The tropical savanna climate tends to be more dry than other tropical climates, with an annual precipitation of 100 to 150 cm of rain. Examples of such countries are Jakarta (Indonesia), Nigeria and Mumbai (India)

  7. Tropical Climate Data

  8. Interesting Fact about Tropical Climate Although Naples,Florida lies in the subtropics, more than a hundred miles north of the tropic of cancer, the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico give it a monthly average temperature of above 18 °C (64 °F) hence its climate can be classified as tropical.
