Chapter IX of "Understanding by Design" explores the final stage of backward design, focusing on planning effective learning experiences. It outlines the essential characteristics of optimal design, including clear performance goals, hands-on activities, real-world applications, and a powerful feedback system. Using the WHERETO framework—Where, Hook, Equip, Rethink, Evaluate, Tailored, Organized—it provides a structured approach to teaching Ebru art. Students will engage in individual and group experiences to explore materials, reflect on their processes, and evaluate their work collaboratively, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Ebru art.
