  2. The setting and first events • The setting is at David’s house. Xander gets mad at his father because he didn’t tell them that they were living in a dangerous house. When they first moved, their lives kept getting weirder. They ended up finding a weird door which was actually a portal.

  3. Protagonist/ Antagonist • Protagonist: David King- he is a twelve year old boy who fights for his life to save his mother. • Antagonist: Jim Taksidian- He is the man who wants to buy the King’s house and is also the man David saw in his dream

  4. Central Conflict • In the main conflict, the whole gfamily is involved. The conflict is that the family is trying to find their mother. The possible situations could be that they could find her or they find her dead. They could even see her running for her life

  5. Minor characters • Xander King- David’s older brother who helps David in the search his mother. • Edward King- David, Xander, and Toria’s father who them find their mother is there for his children for anything • Mom- The mother of the kids and she was kidnapped by a mysterious person

  6.   7. My thoughts • I thought it was an interesting book. The kids going into the portals would be something I would like to learn more about. From the beginning to the end, this book kept me interested and occupied. I could even relate to the book.
