  4. Littleford Day Rental Program Daymax The Littleford Day Rental Program Your Littleford Day sales engineer can arrange for the rental of a trial demon-stration unit for testing in your own plant. This program offers potential customers in the process industry a unique opportunity to test our mixers, dryers or reactors in their own manufacturing environment. Various units are available through this program for use in many applications, ( from our famous Ploughshare Littleford Day Mixers, to our Daymax liquid dispersers, Mark II “Nauta Type” units and pharmaceutical MGT granulators). Can be used to determine scale-up information for manufacturing capabilities of larger production units. Under this program, customers are able to lease for an agreed period one of the several units commonly available and credit a certain amount of the paid rent to the purchase of either that same machine or of a larger one. Original period can be extended, at customer´s request, for as long as it suits his needs. Depending in the type of unit, invoicing is done either in a day - by - day or monthly basis ( excluding Sundays & Holidays), which allows customers to determine the processing advantages of our equipment without large commit- ments of research & development funds.

  6. Littleford Day Rental Program Rental Agreement (Draft) Provision for adequate and proper insurance including Comp- rehensive, Physical Damage, and Liability to sufficient limits. (Certificate to be furnished on request). The Lesse is responsible for familiarizing his operator and pro- perly instructing him in the safe operation of the equipment. Safety switches must not be bypassed. Should this equipment be involved in an accident, Littleford Day must be advised with- in 24 hours. At that time, Littleford Day will have the right to enter the premises and have available all personnel in the acci- dent for investigation purposes and all information in the Lesee files. If the machine operator´s main language is other than English, all instructions must be translated for the operator. OPTIONS EXTENDED THE LESSEE The Lessee may buy the rental equipment at any time during the rental period, (DorF) of the rental paid being credited against purchase, up to 75% of the purchase price of the rental machine. Should the Lessee choose to purchase another Littleford Day machine while having a machine on rental or at the end of a ren- tal period,then upon return of such rental equipment, (EorG)of the rental paid may be applied as a credit on the purchase of such other equipment, provided such credit does not exceed 10 % of the purchase price of such new machine, further pro- vided that the Lessee discharge obligations assumed under “Responsibilities To Be Born By User”, and purchase is made within six (6) months following return of such rental equipment. HOLD HARMLESS CLAUSE Lessee shall indemnify Lessor against, and hold Lessor harm- less from any and all claims, damages and expenses, including attorney´s fees, arising or imposes with or without Lessor´s fault or negligence or under the doctrine of “strict liability” in connection with said rental equipment. Lessee agrees that upon written notice by Lessor of the assertion of such claim, Lessee shall assume full responsibility for the defense thereof. The provisions of this paragraph shall survive termination of the rental agreement. Littleford Day, Inc., Lessor, agrees to provide to ______, Lessee, the follo- wing described equipment and the Lessee agrees to the following Terms and Conditions: Model: _(A)_ Rental Rate: $ _( ** ) _ Payment Type: _ ( B or C)_ Rent is payable the end of each month upon receipt of invoice (U.S.Funds). RESPONSABILITIES TO BE BORNE BY USER (LESSEE) Provide purchase order to cover rental mixer. Transportation costs, both ways. Upon return mixer sho- uld be shipped freight prepaid. Maintenance and repairs while in possession of Lessee. Payment of property tax if assessed for period mixer is in the possession of the Lessee. Any necessary repairs including parts & labor, & cleaning to restore equipment (i.e.,motor, mechanical seals,electrical controls,etc) to original rental condition. Furnish Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) upon return of mixer or be subject to continued rent. Proper & safe installation of the unit. For units to be sent outside the U.S., Lesseewill provide adequate Bank Guarantee. ( ** ) :Pricing to be provided by your local Littleford Day Sales Representative. It can also be charged through an accessory port cover with a built - in charging port extension safety screen, filter cap and liquid addition capability. Small amounts of material may easily be add- ed through the charging port while the mixer is running. Discharge of the mixer is accomplished by rotating the mixing drum 180 degrees downward on its swivel base. For simplicity of cleaning, the mixer drum is detached by removing a quick release clamp. The shaft and plows are easily removed for cleaning by removing one screw.

It is charged through a combination charging & venting port. A quick release clamp allows for fast removal and replacement of the vent for charging of the mixer. The mixing action causes the materials to crisscross in the direction of the vessel walls and inversely back again, provi-ding a high volume rate of material transfer. The mechanically fluidized bed of particles is the basis of it´s mixing efficiency and accuracy, including mixtures with diverse specific gravi- ties as well as other problems such as liquid incorporation and heat transfer. Littleford Day Rental Program W-10 High-Intensity Rental Mixer VERTICAL MIXER FOR HIGH-SHEAR APPLICATIONS Compact, high intensity mixer designed for applications that require a high amount of mechanical shear (such as PVC compounding or pigments dispersion). The mixing action of this vertical bowl unit is accomplished by the high speed rotation of the impellers which consist of a horizontal plow or initiator setting the mix in motion in conjunction with an angular plow or accelerator which imparts the shear into the mix. The high speed rotation of the mixing impellers creates a high shear pumping vortex mixing action which keeps the mix in a combined rotary, horizontal and vertical movement, resulting in fast homogenization. The mixing vortex is controlled by a deflector vane that enters the mix from the lid and by the rotating speed of the impellers. The deflector vane is equipped with a thermocouple for measuring product temperature and an injection tube for liquid addition capability through the vane.
